Welcome to Carr Hill Primary and Nursery School
Welcome to Carr Hill Primary and Nursery School, a warm, inclusive and caring community where every child is encouraged to aspire, enjoy their learning, and flourish as an individual.
At Carr Hill, we believe that childhood should be a time of curiosity, happiness and ambition. Our aim is to provide a safe, nurturing environment in which pupils feel valued, supported and inspired to achieve their very best. We place children at the heart of everything we do, ensuring that they feel confident to take risks in their learning and proud of their successes.
Our Values: Aspire, Enjoy & Flourish
Our work is underpinned by three core values that shape daily life at Carr Hill:
- Aspire – We encourage all children to have high aspirations for themselves, to believe in their abilities and to develop a positive attitude towards learning. Through high‑quality teaching and supportive relationships, we help pupils set goals and develop the skills and resilience needed to achieve them.
- Enjoy – Learning at Carr Hill is engaging, creative and fun. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum filled with exciting opportunities that spark curiosity and enthusiasm. When children enjoy learning, they become motivated, confident and eager to discover more.
- Flourish – Every child is unique, and we are committed to helping each one flourish academically, socially and emotionally. We place great importance on wellbeing, kindness and respect, ensuring our pupils grow into thoughtful, caring and confident individuals.
Learning and Community
We provide an engaging and creative curriculum that offers a wide range of memorable learning experiences, both in and beyond the classroom. Pupils’ voices are highly valued at Carr Hill. Their ideas help to shape our curriculum and school life, and our active School Council gives pupils meaningful opportunities to contribute to real decisions and develop leadership skills.
Strong partnerships are central to our success. We are proud of the close links we have developed with our local community, as well as the positive relationships we build with parents and families. Working together enables us to enrich the experiences and opportunities available to our children and helps them to feel supported at every stage of their learning journey.
A Warm Welcome
It is a priority for all our staff to create a nurturing and inclusive ethos where children feel safe, happy and ready to learn. We want every pupil to leave Carr Hill with fond memories of their time here, a love of learning, and the confidence to take the next steps in their education.

Head Teacher
“Across the majority of subjects, the school’s curriculum is well planned and sequenced. It is ambitious. It sets out what pupils will learn at each stage of their education. It builds incrementally over time. Parts of the curriculum are reviewed periodically to help pupils revisit what they have learned to strengthen their recall.”
“Senior leaders are determined that pupils receive a good quality of education. They have worked tirelessly to bring this about. They have built a staff team who share their vision for pupils to ‘Enjoy, Aspire and Flourish’. Staff say that they get the support they need to carry out their duties. Senior leaders check on how well the school’s curriculum is being taught and remembered by pupils in key stages 1 and 2.”
