Our British Values
We actively promote British Values throughout our curriculum and wider school life to help children develop into respectful, responsible and active citizens. These values are embedded in everyday learning, behaviour and relationships and support pupils to understand their role within modern Britain.
Democracy
We teach children that their voice matters.
Pupils are given opportunities to share their views, make choices and contribute to decision‑making within school. From class discussions and school councils to voting on activities, children learn to listen to others, express opinions respectfully and understand that decisions are often made by the majority while valuing everyone’s viewpoint.
The Rule of Law
We help pupils to understand the importance of rules, fairness and responsibility.
Clear rules and expectations help children feel safe and supported. Through daily school routines, behaviour policies and discussions, pupils learn why rules exist, how they protect everyone and the consequences of breaking them. Links are made to laws in wider society, helping children understand their role as responsible citizens.
Individual Liberty
We encourage children to develop confidence, independence and personal responsibility.
Pupils are supported to make choices, take appropriate risks and express themselves safely. We teach children to understand their rights and freedoms while also recognising the importance of respecting others. Through guidance and support, pupils learn how to make informed choices and keep themselves and others safe.

Mutual Respect
Respect is a key part of our school culture.
Children are taught to treat everyone with kindness, fairness and consideration. Through positive relationships, restorative approaches and role modelling, pupils learn that respect underpins successful learning and a happy community. Differences are valued, and respectful behaviour is consistently promoted and celebrated.
Tolerance of Different Faiths and Beliefs
We promote understanding, openness and celebration of diversity.
Children learn about a range of religions, cultures and beliefs through the curriculum and real-life experiences. By exploring similarities and differences, pupils develop respect, empathy and curiosity about the world around them. This helps prepare them for life in a diverse and modern Britain.
By promoting British Values alongside our core values of Aspire, Enjoy and Flourish, we ensure that our pupils are well-prepared for their future lives and able to contribute positively to society.
